Features of the Modern Essentials App

There are numerous ways you can use this app to find the information you need. From the home screen, you can look up a condition or an oil by either using the search bar at the top or by tapping on the figure to the left. Just tap the figure in the area you are wanting information for, and scroll through the menu that pops up to find the appropriate condition. The “Search” button on the bottom of the screen will bring you back to this page.

If you click on the “Conditions” button on the bottom of the screen, you will be taken to the conditions page. This represents highlights from the Personal Usage Guide section of the book Modern Essentials and contains the primary (red) and secondary (orange) recommendations. Scroll through the conditions by spinning the thermometer at the top of the screen. You can easily hide or view the thermometer by tapping the blue bar at the top.

By clicking on the “Oils” button on the bottom navigation bar, you will be able to look up information about a particular single oil. This section represents highlights from the Single Oils section of the book Modern Essentials. Spin the oil bottle at the top of the screen to look up a different oil. You can easily hide or view the oil bottle by tapping the blue bar at the top of the screen.

The “Usage” button will take you to a series of pages providing basic information about the topical, aromatic, and internal applications of essential oils. This section contains some information provided in the Science & Application section of the Modern Essentials book. Under the Topical section is information on Massage, Direct Application, Reflex Therapy, and Auricular Therapy. The Reflex Therapy page and Auricular Therapy page contain their respective charts.

Under the Aromatic section is information about Diffusion, Direct Inhalation, and All-Day Aromatherapy. Many of these information pages in the Usage section contain pictures or videos to demonstrate the topic. The Internal section includes information on Oral Application, Vaginal or Rectal Application, and Cooking. Included on the Cooking page is a recipe for Luscious Lemon Bars!
