Essential Oil Spotlight: White Fir

White fir essential oil common and other possible uses

White fir essential oil is extracted from the soft needles of the fir tree Abies alba. White fir has been prized throughout the ages for its abilities to help with respiratory complaints, fever, and muscular and rheumatic pain.

Fir has been said to be beneficial for protecting against cold and flu, reducing aches and pains, fighting airborne germs and bacteria, and helping support the body as it deals with arthritis, asthma, coughs, rheumatism, sinusitis, and urinary tract infections.

White fir’s primary uses include bronchitis, bursitis, cartilage inflammation, energizing, frozen shoulder, furniture polish, muscle pain and fatigue, and sprains.

Aromatically, white fir creates a feeling of grounding, anchoring, and empowerment. It is said to stimulate the mind and allow the body to relax.
