Make your own toxin-free bath and body products! This handout highlights harmful chemicals commonly found in commercial bath and body products. It offers 12 bath body and hair essential oil recipes with variations to customize your products based on skin types and conditions.

Recipes: Body—Face and Body Lotion, Facial Oil, Relaxing Massage Oil, Gentle Herbal Facial Wash, Body Oil, and Hydrating Spray; Bath and Shower—Bubble Bath, Bath Bombs, Body Wash, and Coconut Body Scrub; Hair—Deep Conditioner and Coconut Milk Shampoo.

Recipe sheets are great to give as class handouts or with samples. A convenient tear pad keeps them in order and good condition.

For these recipes you will need six 8 oz. pump top bottles, two 8 oz. jars, one 1 oz. dropper bottle, one 2 oz. dropper bottle, one 2 oz. misting spray bottle, and one bath bomb mold.

  • Essential oils needed for all 12 blends and skin types—basil, bergamot, Clary sage, cypress, frankincense, geranium, helichrysum, lavender, lemon, melaleuca, myrrh, neroli, patchouli, peppermint, rose, rosemary, sandalwood, thyme, and ylang ylang.
  • Base ingredients needed for products—aloe vera gel, carrier oil of choice (apricot, argan, avocado, almond, fractionated coconut, grapeseed, jojoba, rosehip, sesame, safflower, sunflower, or tamanu), coconut milk, coconut oil, distilled water, epsom salt, liquid castile soap, olive oil, salt, sugar, vegetable glycerin, and vitamin E oil.
