1. Starting with Oils
This first step is critical because, as you know, dōTERRA® essential oils are amazing! Simply picking up and inhaling an oil for the first time can be a wonderful experience!
But there is more you can do to make someone's first experience with dōTERRA essential oils a truly life-changing experience:
Listen and ask genuine questions to find out about them and their unique needs.
Check ME™ (books or app) for oils specific to those needs.
Allow them to try a sample of a recommended oil for that need.
Show them how to find oils that fit their needs in the "Introduction to Modern Essentials®" booklet. Then give them this inexpensive booklet to take home with them. This will enable them to continue to discover their own dōTERRA® oil solutions far into the future!

A Basic Approach for Sharing dōTERRA®
We all know that dōTERRA® essential oils are amazing! That's the main reason sharing oils with others works—especially when YOU have related your own experiences with the oils and shown them supporting research and evidence in ME™ for why the oils work.
However, people often walk away from these experiences—holding a sample or two of oils in their hand—and then put these samples away, still not quite knowing how to use them!
Or, worse, they do a quick internet search on how to use the oils and stumble across misinformation and cut-rate oil sources—leading to confusion.
A Better Way
We all know the proverb, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime!" Just handing someone an oil is like handing them a fish. It may fill their immediate need and satisfy them for now, but it doesn't help them tomorrow with new needs. It doesn't teach them new skills that can change their life.
